Details on the new Sony Bravia LCD and SXRD rear projection TVs have been released. The first of the new models will be available this summer. Say hello to 1080p inputs, smaller units, and better picture quality. You can find some current discussion in this thread at AVSForum.
An AVSForum member has summarized the differences between the "A" and "XBR" versions of the SXRD sets in this post
Note that the frame rates supported at 1080p have not been announced. 24? 30? 60? (Here's a discussion of 1080p frame rates.)
Update 7/7: There is still much unknown about these sets, such as the 1080i interlacing method and how that will differ in the cheaper A2000 and more expensive XBR versions. We all have to wait for a professional review.
