Apparently the ride in the Anaheim park (and presumably Orlando too) has been updated with elements from the POTC movies. This usenet posting has a summary of the changes. I suppose adding Captain Jack Sparrow to the ride was inevitable, but I am really getting a sad "New Coke" feeling from it even though the writer of this message liked the changes.

Most of the ride has remained unchanged, though everything was given a fresh coat of paint. And every single effect, including some I haven't seen working in years, was working perfectly.  There were a few new props here and there, including a skeletal parrot in the captain's quarters and the "Aztec gold" treasure chest from the first pirates film in the treasure room...
